The Art Of The Bang! Gunpowder And Sex!

A good friend suggested the process of my art is like sex.  

Really?  I laughed.

Then, I started thinking about it.

The first stage of my gunpowder painting - my concept and material preparation and painting - is like meeting with someone you love. Conversation.  Ideas.  Attraction. Foreplay. A touch. A kiss (I'll have to start kissing my canvas). We light the fuse.

Then there is sex. It is hot. There is fire. We have an explosion. Climax! Boom!

Then repose. We have transformed to a new emotional state. A togetherness. Sharing that we have created beautiful art.  

So thinking about it that way, sure, making my "pop" art is a lot like sex!  

I only hope you don't need a brush and a vacuum to clean up after...

Boom!
