Stick Vega's (Top Secret) Explosive Strategic Plan!
I used to be CEO of a large, direct marketing, apparel company.
A number of years we prepared and worked on a Corporate Strategic Plan.
That sucked. But the banks liked it. They were more comfortable loaning us money if we had binders full of plans and timelines and stuff that no one looked at.
Plus our plans were secret. We didn't want our competition to know what we were up to.
Plan A, Section 2, part 3. Improve the waistbands. Shhhhhhh. Don't tell anybody.
Gotta love secret binders.
After I we sold the company and I resigned, I helped a couple of small companies with their plans.
I told my clients to focus on their vision.
I would ask: With nothing holding you back what will you be? Where will you work? What will be going on day to day?
With that in mind I came up with a couple of key goals for Stick Vega and The Blast Factory.
One page. No binders. No secrets.
I have a simple vision and mission. I work with fire and explosions to capture your imagination and emotion. I hope each small piece I create moves us towards world peace.
With that mission, I have found a bit of critical and commercial success. Cool.
That said here are my goals this year:
1. Find a new home for The Blast Factory. I hope to do some larger scale work and not blow up in the process. So we need more space! (We are currently looking at on old barn and and old theatre...or maybe we will build something.)
2. Reach out and connect with a couple of galleries. I have been fortunate to sell nearly everything I can produce. But some help and some representation might be cool and keep me moving forward.
3. Go on more dates with Renee. They are a blast and give me hope and energy!
4. Keep thinking, moving, testing, and working everyday.
No binders!
Boom!
