Renee Said, "No Way You Sell That One, I Want It!"
I finished and framed RISING WIND yesterday.
It’s a small piece.
Gunpowder. Fuse. Acrylic. Spray paint.
I really love it.
It has good texture. It’s warm. It feels alive.
I was going to put it up for sale today.
Renee saw it and said, “No way you sell that one. I want it.”
She has no idea how good that makes me feel.
She is hard on my work. She wants me to take chances. She wants me to get better.
Renee is the one that taught me to paint.
She even encouraged me to blow things up. How cool is that?
Renee does not like everything I do.
I think that is fair.
So for sure, you can have it, Renee!
I’ll try to blow up another one.
Boom!
Note: if you want to see this RISING WIND in person, you will have to use our bathroom!
