Black Burned Square Not On The Square!
The Art Fair On The Square and Off The Square, in Madison Wisconsin, starts today.
Hundreds of talented artists from across the United States and Wisconsin will be there to show their work.
I won’t.
I never applied.
I don’t have a tent. I don’t have the patience.
I like people and I like talking about my work. Renee says I talk too much, though.
My work and technique would be well received, I think.
I could have done a live event.
Call the fire Marshall. Rope it off. Boom!
So in honor of the Art Fair On The Square I exploded and burned a black square.
I fussed with the edges. I filled the shape. I lit the fuse.
Black Burned Square is an abstraction of the event.
Square. Energy. Movement. Heat.
Maybe I bridged the gap between futurism and constructivism.
Maybe not.
Black Burned Square is meant to evoke the experience of hundreds of artists and thousands of fans today.
Boom!
