Artist Reception! Yahara Boom! Yahara Bay Distillery June 10th.

Yahara Boom is the new show presenting a variety of Stick Vega gunpowder and fuse art. The exhibit includes artworks that range from large mulit-exploded textured paintings to simple hand-held fuse drawings on paper.  The show will also feature four new fast-fuse burned abstract photographs.

"While thinking about a name for the show I had a glass of Yahara Bay Whiskey.  All I could think of was BOOM", noted Stick Vega.

An reception for the artist and a car show fundraiser for MAMA will be held at Yahara Bay Distillery, June 10th, 2017.  Vega will do two demonstrations that afternoon at 1 and 2 pm.

About Stick Vega:

I work with high-speed fuse and gunpowder to create primitive, modern, explosive art.  I produce “pop” expressionism paintings that originate in ancient drawings, graphic art, and emotional observations.

My mission: “The more gunpowder I use, the less there is for killing people.”

Through a process of laying fuse, gunpowder, stencils, paint, and scraping I forge my paintings in a sudden burst of energy that unites the shapes, color and texture. I believe that when the fuse is lit, there is anticipation. Anything might happen.  It is at that moment that true art exists.

I am the American Gunpowder Artist, former CEO, and author of LESS KILLING. I live and create explosive pop and modern art at The Bast Factory in Madison, WI.  I create with gunpowder drawings and paintings, photography, digital art and writing.  And, I may run for Governor in 2018!  That would be a blast.
