Freedy Johnston Selects Vega Art For Album Cover!
"Neon Repairman" is the new album by Freedy Johnston. The records' cover and interior art is based on two gunpowder and fuse fine art prints exploded by Stick Vega.
Johnston selected the art after a live, online concert and explosion event hosted at Vega's Blast Factory in early September. "I am thrilled to be a small part of such a great record. After hearing the title song "Neon Repairman", I had a vision of how the art might look. It needed to convey the emotion and character that Freedy pours into the song." said Vega.
Vega created two works, Neon Man 1 and Neon Man 2 with florescent spray paint, stencils, high speed fuses, fine grade gunpowder, and cannon powder. After the explosion and finishing, fine art prints were developed from the original art for Johnston's use.
Vega noted, "I hope the artwork inspires people to buy and listen to "Neon Repairman". Freedy is a genius songwriter and singer, with unique emotion. The album is incredible and deserves to be heard."
"Neon Repairman" will be available November 1st.
